Hi! I’m Lindsey

AboutMe-CZ.jpg

Get to know me

I began my career in Los Angeles working in Entertainment PR and Marketing. After 3.5 years I followed my dreams and relocated to New York City where my career spanned digital content strategy to graphic design at MullenLowe New York, Christopher Radko and PVH Corp (the parent company of CALVIN KLEIN, Tommy Hilfiger, Speedo and Heritage Brands). I highly value and respect the merging of communal spaces with the digital world. This is where it becomes key to recognize that designing with intention, considering contextual solutions, and the power of empathy play together to create experiences that will shape tomorrow.

A world traveler…

My interest in people and how they behave is one of the main reasons I became so passionate about traveling. I have an innate cultural curiosity, leading me to immerse myself in the local life of various cities I’ve visited in Canada, Scandinavia, France, Greece and the Czech Republic.

Committing part of my life to discovering the world, meeting new people and opening myself up to and experiencing cultures all over the globe led to the creation of my travel blog Seven Day Weekender. Travel has helped me continue to learn and discover and has made me a more open-minded person, informing my future goals to live and work overseas.

I’m not going to lie, in my free time you can probably find me behind the camera exploring around where I currently live or on another global adventure meeting all the people, learning to cook all of the local dishes (which I can then recreate at home) and immersing myself in history.

So what’s next?

All of these experiences helped me realize my passion and the power of user-centric design. I’ve become inspired by designers at the forefront of improving internal business processes, culture, and customer experiences. So I took it upon myself to complete General Assembly's UX Design Immersive Bootcamp. I also plan to earn my UX certification from Nielsen Norman Group, as well as an accessibility certification from IAAP (International Association of Accessibility Professionals).

Experienced

UX/UI Designer

In a nutshell

I’m a creative thinker, problem solver, traveler and data-driven UX designer, graphic designer and content creator with over 8 years of experience leveraging my research, digital illustration and content marketing skills to discover what makes people tick and engage with aesthetically pleasing interfaces.

I seek to spark new ideas that help businesses harness and distill their brand story into beautiful, functional and engaging human-centric digital experiences.

I’m a UX/UI Designer who puts my design thinking skills to work into my customer journey mapping, analyzing and reporting KPIs, and iterating and testing design assumptions, all with the goal of creating innovative solutions that both improve users’ lives and help achieve business goals.

Work experience

After 3.5 years in Los Angeles (aka the “City of Angels”) working for entertainment PR and marketing firm PMK•BNC (now Rogers & Cowan PMK) on brand accounts including Beiersdorf NIVEA, Budweiser Club Bud London 2012, Habitual Denim, Audi, Doodle 4 Google, Samsung, 1OAK Las Vegas, The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas and Activision, I followed my dreams and relocated to New York City where my “Big Apple” career spanned digital content strategy to corporate communications to graphic design at MullenLowe New York, Christopher Radko and PVH Corp (the parent company of CALVIN KLEIN, Tommy Hilfiger, Speedo and Heritage Brands).

More about me

Extra Stuff

What else do I like to do when I’m not designing delightful user experiences?

Travel.

Travel is my #1 passion. I have a deep cultural curiosity, I love to cook, and meeting new people brings me joy. This is one of the many reasons I seek to experience the world and document all my travels on my blog.

Photography.

I’ve always been a visual person — ever since I was a small child. Expressing myself creatively is my form of communication, and over the years that has manifested itself through my passion for documenting the world from behind a camera lens.

Baking.

There’s a reason ‘Great British Baking Show’ is my binge-worthy pleasure. After fashion, this is probably the second thing I spend most of my money on: Ingredients for a variety of random recipes to manifest my inner Julia Child.

The outdoors.

It’s probably because I grew up in the Pacific Northwest of the US, but being outside — whether it’s hiking on a mountain trail, swimming in a river, lounging at the beach, or exploring a national park — is where I am the happiest.
